Halian is recruiting a qualified and experienced Finance Manager on behalf of their client in Kampala, Uganda. The successful candidate will lead financial operations, ensure compliance, and maintain strong financial controls to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
This role focuses on financial governance, revenue assurance, audit readiness, and cost control while ensuring zero revenue leakage and full statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial operations and ensure accurate revenue recognition
- Manage cash control, POS, and bank reconciliations
- Oversee monthly financial reporting and closing processes
- Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and statutory requirements
- Monitor payroll, vendor payments, and operational costs
- Maintain financial controls and prevent fraud or revenue loss
- Support audits (internal, statutory, and client-related)
- Provide financial analysis and decision support to management
Key Performance Expectations
- 100% accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations
- Zero financial losses or revenue leakage
- Full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Timely delivery of financial reports and management accounts
- Successful completion of audits with no major issues
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA preferred)
- 8–12 years of finance/accounting experience
- 3–5 years in a managerial role
- Experience in regulated or cash-intensive environments is an advantage
