Job Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for implementing the Bank’s security strategy to ensure the protection of staff, customers, assets, information, and premises. The role strengthens physical and operational security through risk management, incident response, surveillance monitoring, and security awareness programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the Bank’s security policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards for physical security and safety.
- Conduct security risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures to reduce vulnerabilities.
- Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and other surveillance infrastructure; report faults and incidents promptly.
- Lead investigations into security incidents, breaches, and policy violations, including documentation and reporting.
- Coordinate with law enforcement agencies on investigations requiring legal intervention.
- Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs for staff and stakeholders.
- Analyse security incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive actions.
- Maintain security intelligence reports and issue alerts where necessary.
- Ensure confidentiality and protection of sensitive security-related information.
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and incidents in a professional and controlled manner.
- Liaise with contracted security service providers to ensure effective guard deployment and rotation.
- Maintain updated SLAs with security vendors (CCTV, alarms, guarding, CIT services).
- Conduct routine security audits, inspections, and “snap checks” across bank premises.
- Support development of contingency and emergency response plans.
- Prepare and submit periodic security reports to management and the Risk Committee.
- Ensure compliance with AML/CFT/CPF policies and internal control frameworks.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Information Technology, or related field.
- Professional certification in Security Management is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in security operations, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Experience in CCTV monitoring, alarm systems, and physical security operations.
- Hands-on experience in incident management and emergency response.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles is an added advantage.
- Experience in policy implementation and compliance enforcement.
