Job Overview
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Protection Officer – Child Protection. The role focuses on supporting child protection programs, including case management for vulnerable children and unaccompanied or separated children (UASC), while ensuring adherence to established protection standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation
- Support implementation of child protection activities and case management services
- Ensure adherence to child protection standards and best interest procedures
- Oversee interim care arrangements for children during family tracing
- Conduct awareness sessions on child protection and positive parenting
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of cases
Coordination & Representation
- Participate in coordination meetings with stakeholders
- Liaise with community leaders and service providers
- Support referral systems for children at risk
- Collaborate with GBV and other protection actors
Technical Supervision
- Guide and support child protection case workers
- Conduct case reviews and ensure quality case management
- Support staff capacity building and training
Logistics & Finance
- Support planning and implementation of activities
- Coordinate with logistics and finance teams
- Monitor activity budgets and expenditures
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Development Studies, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in child protection or humanitarian programs
- Experience working with NGOs or UN agencies
- Strong understanding of refugee protection programs
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Good communication and training skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desirable:
- Knowledge of local languages (South Sudanese or Congolese communities)
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation for donor-funded projects

Contract & Benefits
- Contract Duration: 6 months
- Duty Stations: Rhino Camp, Imvepi, Bidibidi
- Salary: As per DRC Terms of Employment
