About the Role
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is hiring a Driver (Driver 1) in Kampala to support missionary work and daily operations. This is an entry-level role focused on safe transportation, vehicle maintenance, and supporting church activities.
You will play a direct role in enabling missionary work by ensuring reliable and safe movement of personnel and materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport missionaries to appointments, airports, and assigned locations
- Operate different types of vehicles, including vans and buses
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure proper maintenance
- Maintain accurate vehicle logs and usage records
- Ensure cleanliness and proper care of assigned vehicles
- Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures
- Support logistics operations as assigned
Requirements
- Must meet standards required for a temple recommend
- Minimum: High School Certificate (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of work experience
- At least 1 year of driving experience with a clean driving record
- Valid driver’s license (CDL may be required)
- Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage
- Ability to read maps and follow directions
- Good communication and basic numeracy skills
Work Conditions
- May require weekend work and on-call availability
